Tony Billetter, previously Apple's head of worldwide business strategy and planning for video and sports, has joined Venu Sports, a joint venture by Disney, Fox Corp., and Warner Bros. Discovery.
Billetter, who worked at Apple since 2017 and at Disney for over a decade prior, now reunites with Pete Distad, Venu's CEO and former Apple TV+ executive.
Venu Sports, announced in February and aiming for a fall 2024 launch, will combine ESPN+ with the sports programming from ABC, ESPN networks, Fox, FS1, FS2, Big Ten Network, TNT, TBS, and truTV. The launch depends on regulatory approval and agreement finalisations.
