Google is expanding its AI-generated search summaries, known as AI Overviews, to six new countries, including Brazil, India, and the UK.
This comes after a problematic initial rollout, where inaccurate answers, such as a recipe listing glue as an ingredient, sparked criticism. Google has since made updates to improve accuracy and restrict certain queries. The feature,
first introduced in the U.S. in May, now includes hyperlinks to support publishers.
The expansion occurs amid ongoing legal challenges, with a U.S. judge recently ruling that Google holds an illegal monopoly on search, and rising competition from AI rivals.
